ICAS competitions are designed to recognise academic excellence in a variety of field. Students are assessed on their ability to apply what they have learned in the classroom to new problems and their ability to use higher order thinking skills.
2021 is the 40th year of the ICAS competitions and students from all over the world take part. The assessments are based on the curricula of each year with students asked to demonstrate a thorough level of knowledge in a deep, integrate way.
Due to COVID the ICAS competition dates have been extended and Narrabri High is pleased to offer students the opportunity to sit for the assessments in Writing, English, Science and Mathematics. All that needs to happen is that parents fill out the form sent to their email by Thursday so the school can meet the cut-off date for entries. The school recognises the value of these competitions and will cover the cost ($21.45 for writing and $17.05 for the others). Students are encouraged to test their knowledge and understanding in one or more areas.
