A group of talented and dedicated students have done their school and community proud at the recent Narrabri Show, held over last weekend, with strong performances in a wide range of agricultural competitions.
The students demonstrated their skills and knowledge in Junior Judging on Friday, followed by Cattle Parading and Judging on Saturday, achieving notable success across several categories. Their outstanding results reflected not only their hard work and enthusiasm but also the strong mentorship provided in the lead-up to the show.
A special thanks goes to Ben Atkinson, who generously gave his time to speak with students about sheep judging prior to the event. His practical insights and expertise had a significant impact, with many students reporting increased confidence and improved speaking points. This preparation clearly paid off, as students brought home ribbons in diverse judging categories, including grain, merino sheep, cattle, meat sheep, fruit and vegetables, and merino fleece.
Another highlight of the weekend was the participation of students Elizabeth, Taryn and Ava in the prestigious Junior Young Woman competition. The trio represented their school with grace and maturity. Special congratulations go to Elizabeth, who was named the winner, and to Taryn, who was awarded runner-up – an outstanding achievement and a testament to their leadership and communication skills.
As the Narrabri Show continues to foster the next generation of leaders in agriculture, our students are not just participants, but proud ambassadors for their school and community.
