Northern Schools Steer Competition 2024

Steer Comp

This term, eight Narrabri High School students along with  Narrabri High School Ag teacher Miss Bray travelled to Tenterfield for the annual Northern Schools Steer Competition. All students represented the school proudly working hard to parade and present three steers that they have worked with for the last nine months.

Some successes from the event include Aida Renaud, Georgia Herden and Ashley Morris making the finals in their respective parading classes. Caitlin Evans, Aida Renaud, Hayley Gordon and Ashley Morris making the finals for cattle judging, with both Aida and Ashley receiving ribbons for their judging and speaking.

Narrabri High would like to thank the following community members for making this event a success. Mr Jeremy Gett for supplying the school with a feedlot mix and his guidance on the nutrition of our animals. Mr Tim Williemse for transporting our steers to Tenterfield,  Nutrien Ag Solutions for supplying and sourcing our steers and  the Namoi Women’s Shed for making and donating beautiful neck scarves for the girls to parade in.
