U15's Boys Basketball Gala Day

boys basketball

Students from Narrabri High School hosted a 5 team 15's Boys Basketball Gala Day at the Narrabri Basketball Courts this term.

The boys went undefeated for the event and have progressed through to the final four in the North West knockout.

It came down to the final game of the day with both Warialda High and Narrabri High on three wins. It was some accurate outside shooting and solid rebounding in the end that helped Narrabri win 20-19 in an incredibly tight finish.

Congratulations to all schools that came on the day, and we look forward to hosting more event on the newly renovated courts.

Jenny Wright Shield Netball Gala Day

netball gala day

On Wednesday, August 14th, 11 Narrabri High School  students volunteered to umpire the Jenny Wright Shield Gala Day held at the Walgett Sports Grounds. The Jenny Wright Shield is celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2024.

These students have been completing a Netball NSW Empower Play clinics during school sport time over the course of Term 2 and 3 which aims to assist young players build their self-confidence, bond with their teammates, and discover their own strengths and self-worth.

Students were greeted by the daughters of Jenny Wright, Patricia, Georgina and Beth and presented with Umpire shirts for the event with artwork from the family and a very special moment of the event.

Despite the wet, muddy and sometimes drizzly conditions on the day our students were in high spirits and  did not waver as they completed their duties extremely  professionally.

A massive thankyou to Lauren Smart and Mackenzie Knox for completing the clinics with our students. They loved the clinics and the final event as well.
